Tax 2.0

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) released the following statement after passing tax reform for the second time.

“I am proud to vote twice to allow Americans to keep more of their own money,” said Congressman Gosar.  “No one knows how to spend your money better than you do.  The federal government is too big and too wasteful, and this tax bill makes strides toward keeping the government out of your bank account.”

“I am disappointed that an unelected official, the Senate Parliamentarian, was able to override the will of Congress and strip out key tax benefits for education,” said Gosar. “This is a good example of how the swamp really works. One person, accountable to no one, prevented millions of children from benefiting under the tax code. This is beyond sad.”

“It was an honor to pass a tax reform providing relief for all Americans once, and it’s an honor to do it again.”

Here’s what they’re saying back home:

President & CEO of Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce — Lisa J. Krueger

“The Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce thanks the members of Congress that voted for pro-growth reform today. Congressman Paul Gosar has been a true partner and advocate for Lake Havasu City businesses in this effort to grow jobs, improve the economy, and to make Lake Havasu City and Mohave County a better place for families and for the places where we work.”

Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party — Jonathan Lines

“I’m proud of the delegation and especially my Congressman Rep. Paul Gosar for following through with this important legislation. This tax law will keep more dollars in Arizona and in the pockets of Arizona families."

Vice President of Southern Arizona Business Coalition — Rick Grinnell

“Congressman Gosar understands big and small businesses are dependent upon each other to expand economic and employment opportunities. This long overdue tax relief provides a path to a stronger economy so all can benefit. Thank you Congressman Gosar for your continued fight to provide more opportunities for low and middle income families of our great state.”

NFIB Arizona State Director — Farrell Quinlan

“NFIB would like to thank Congressman Gosar for his support for the most important small business tax cut plan in more than 30 years. His support for Main Street businesses means they will be able to reinvest their money, grow, and create jobs.”

Executive Director of Arizona Rock Products Association — Steve Trussell

“The ARPA team understands the gravity of this tax bill becoming law. Congressman Gosar’s vote to enact a pro-growth, pro-jobs reform is a testament to his principled approach to supporting the economy. We expect this reform to greatly benefit middle class families and businesses across the Great State of Arizona”
